GEREED

The structural rib of the date palm. An agricultural residue. An Egyptian craft material. A starting point for new possibilities.

Palm rib material studies

MATERIAL ARCHIVE

A material archive in progress.

Peacock studies how palm rib dries, bends, turns, compresses, joins and takes a finish. The material is not treated as a fixed recipe, but as an evolving system.

Our research moves between vernacular knowledge and contemporary production, preserving a craft by expanding what it can become.
