Palm rib, reimagined.

Peacock Design Studio creates furniture and objects in Saqqara, Egypt, from a material once left behind, shaped by hand, grounded in place, and made to endure.

01 / MATERIAL

GEREED

The structural rib of the date palm. A material rooted in Egyptian craft, reworked by Peacock into furniture, objects, surfaces and spatial applications.

We begin with the material itself: how it dries, bends, turns, joins, compresses and takes a finish. The design follows what gereed can become.

03 / PRACTICE

One material.
Many forms.

Peacock moves between object and architecture. Palm rib can become structure, surface, detail or skin, depending on what the project asks of it.

05 / SAQQARA

Designed and made in Saqqara, Egypt.

Peacock's microfactory brings material research, craft and production into one place.

Ideas are tested at full scale, techniques are adapted by hand, and each object is developed close to the material itself.

06 / RESEARCH

Research is part of the practice.

Gereed is not a finished recipe. It is an open material system.

Working with craftspeople, students and collaborators, Peacock tests new ways of shaping, joining and applying palm rib. Our collaboration with Design Academy Eindhoven opened the material to a new generation of experiments and propositions.
